A lesbian waitress and ex-Marine who caught national attention after a customer left her an anti-gay note instead of a tip has decided to give all the donations she’s received since the incident to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Dayna Morales, who works at Gallop Asian Bistro in Branchburg, N.J., was handed a credit card slip from a customer last week that read, “I’m sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle and how you live your life,” NJ.com reported.

Ms. Morales told NJ.com the support from people dropping by to give her a tip has already topped $2,000 and her employer has agreed to match every dollar to donate to the Wounded Warrior project, which helps injured veterans.

“We’re a big family here, we all have each other’s backs.” Ms. Morales said in the report. “[My co-workers] were offended on my behalf, and they didn’t take it lightly.”
