Talk about going out with a bang. The last image New York City had of former Rep. Anthony Weiner as he drove from his primary election night party — a loser in the mayoral race — was his middle finger, held high in his passenger-side window.

Democrat Bill de Blasio took the primary and will head off against Republican Joe Lhota in the November election for mayor.

The primary brings to end a rather odd campaign for Mr. Weiner, marked by sexting scandals and bravado statements, arguments with constituents and shouting matches with television news hosts.

Tuesday evening, after his concession speech, a picture posted on Twitter of him flipping the bird served as an apt finish to his campaign, CNN reported.

The accompanying tweeted text: “The Press, Weiner security scuffle. Reporter: ‘These are the type of people you surround yourself w/, who push us?’ “

And if that wasn’t dramatic enough, making a dramatic entrance at Mr. Weiner’s campaign party was none other than his old sexting partner, Syndey Leathers, dressed in a skin-tight red dress, CNN reported.

“I’m here to celebrate,” she said, CNN reported. “I think he needs some sex therapy.
