The Washington Redskins’ Josh Morgan had a moment of panic Monday after he made 30 calls to his mother, who works at the Washington Navy Yard, and was unable to reach her, sports reporter Sky Kerstein tweeted.

“#Redskins Josh Morgan says his mom works in the Navy Yard building where the shooting took place, he has made 30 calls, hasn’t talked to her,” Mr. Kerstein said.

At about 12:25 p.m., the reporter tweeted that the wide receiver’s cousin had updated fans with good news.

Josh Morgan’s cousin tweeted that Morgan’s mom is ok and Josh confirms that is indeed his cousin who tweeted that,” Mr. Kerstein said.

Current reports say that one shooter was confirmed killed at the scene of the Navy Yard rampage, and authorities are looking for two other men who may also have been involved in the attack.

Mr. Morgan tweeted earlier this morning his condolences for those affected by the attack.

“May God Bless the Workers & Families of Victims affected by the Navy Yard Active Shooter this Morning; Our thoughts & Prayers are with You,” he said to his 605 followers.
