George Zimmerman was taken into investigative detention in Seminole County, Fla., Monday after his estranged wife called police saying he was “threatening” her with a gun, a local television station reported.

Lake Mary police said they were called to the home of David and Machelle Dean, Shellie Zimmerman’s parents, after a report that Mr. Zimmerman was involved in an altercation with his wife and her father, according to WKMG-TV.

“He’s in his car and he continually has his hand on his gun and he keeps saying ‘step closer’ and he’s just threatening all of us,” Mrs. Zimmerman said in the 911 call, adding that George was “trying to shut the garage door” on her.

“He punched my dad in the nose — my dad has a mark on the nose. I saw his glasses were on the floor,” she reportedly said in the call. “He then accosted my father then took my iPad out of my hands.”

As of 3:45 p.m., no arrests had been made and Mr. Zimmerman is “no longer in investigative detention,” according to police.

The police chief of the Orlando suburb where officers are investigating a fight between George Zimmerman and his estranged wife says Shellie Zimmerman doesn’t want to press charges.

Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell said that after consulting with her attorney, Shellie and her father made the decision not to press charges against Mr. Zimmerman, the AP reported.

The incident comes just days after Shellie Zimmerman announced she was divorcing her husband, who was acquitted in July for the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
