CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - A Corinth man has pleaded guilty in the 2013 shooting death of Karson Stewart and will serve 40 years in prison.

Demarlen Obryan Davis was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to second degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Prosecutors tell the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (https://bit.ly/QzEWR1 ) that the 26-year-old Davis was sentenced to 40 years on the second degree murder charge and 10 years on the firearms charge, to be served concurrently.

Prosecutors say the 22-year-old Stewart died March 26, 2013, after being shot while sitting behind the wheel of her car at an unoccupied house in Corinth and police arrested Davis at the scene.
