LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A November trial has been scheduled in a lawsuit filed by the Deer/Mount Judea School District that challenges the way Arkansas funds education.

The two-week trial is set to begin Nov. 10 in Pulaski County Circuit Court.

The Deer/Mount Judea district sued in 2010, alleging that the state has not complied with laws that were enacted to end the long-running Lake View School funding case. Last year, the Arkansas Supreme Court sent the case back to lower court, saying the lawsuit raised new issues that have emerged since the Lake View case ended.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1olduFf ) a hearing is set for June 3 on requests from the Alma, Fort Smith, Greenwood and Van Buren districts to intervene in the lawsuit.
