HIGHLAND, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of the two people who were killed when their vehicles collided head-on while traveling on a Hudson Valley road last weekend.

Police in the Ulster County town of Lloyd tell local media outlets that the victims have been identified as 51-year-old Tracey Krug of Plattekill and 50-year-old Wayne Donaldson of Highland.

Officials say Krug was driving her BMW sport utility vehicle at a high rate of speed on Route 9W when she crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a BMW driven by Donaldson. The collision occurred shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday in the hamlet of Highland.

Donaldson was pronounced dead at the scene. Krug was pronounced dead at a Poughkeepsie hospital. They were the only people in their vehicles.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
