LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A former Louisville car lot worker is accused of selling cars while the business was closed and pocketing the money.

WAVE-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1olgOQM ) 33-year-old Danny R. Brown is charged with theft by deception under $10,000.

According to records, Brown sold 15 cars on Sundays between Aug. 1 and Dec. 9. Metro Motors learned of the sales when the customers returned to get the titles transferred on the vehicles. The company allowed the customers to keep the vehicles.

Jail records indicate Brown is being held in the Louisville Metro jail on a $5,000 bond.

Brown’s mother, Edith Mayfield, told the station that her son could not have done what he is accused of because he lived with her at the time and only made a couple of hundred dollars a week.
