ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Tuesday is election day in Anchorage.

Residents in Alaska’s largest city will go to the polls to decide assembly members, school board members and bond packages, among other issues.

The Anchorage School District is seeking about $57 million for school improvements, with the bulk of the money going to upgrade Airport Heights Elementary School.

Residents will also be asked whether sworn police officers should be the ones writing parking tickets outside downtown Anchorage instead of community service officers. The city also is seeking funds to renovate the main library.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
