FERDINAND, Ind. (AP) - MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc. says a planned expansion of a southwest Indiana operation could create more than 260 jobs by the end of 2016.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports (https://bit.ly/1gSxAwW ) that the company announced the expansion at its Ferdinand plant Friday. Ferdinand is about 40 miles east of Evansville.

MasterBrand plans to invest about $8 million in equipment at the 500,000 square foot plant.



The company employs more than 3,500 people at six Indiana sites, including more than 1,500 in Ferdinand.

The state offered MasterBrand up to $1.2 million in tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants contingent on job creation. The town also offered the company tax abatement.
