NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - A 200-pound plaster sculpture of a rubber ducky has gone missing in Norman.

Norman Police Capt. Tom Easley says the sculpture known as “Samo Ducky” was reported missing Thursday morning. The 44-inch duck was created in 2010 and was the inspiration for the Norman Public Arts Board’s Duck Project.

Twelve fiberglass reproductions of the duck, each painted with different designs, have been installed in 10 local parks.

Firehouse Art Center Executive Director Douglas Shaw Elder tells The Norman Transcript (https://bit.ly/PXnepH ) that Samo Ducky wasn’t bolted down. Elder, who created the sculpture, says a fiberglass duck has been ordered to replace the original sculpture.
