MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) - Books are floating in western Michigan.

Book lovers turned out Friday for the start of a used book sale to support Hackley Public Library in Muskegon. It’s an annual event, but this time the weekend sale is being held aboard a World War II-era ship, the USS LST 393.

Fruitport resident Mike Baldwin tells the Muskegon Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1jz3Vx3) that he’s able peruse history books and also learn about the ship’s history. He says, “This is pretty cool.”

Susan Mills of Friends of the Hackley Public Library says the sale usually raises at least $5,000. There are thousands of books as well as CDs and DVDs.
