LUDINGTON, Mich. (AP) - About 56,000 Sturgeon River strain brown trout have been stocked in a western Michigan lake.

State fisheries technician Joe Mickevich tells (https://bit.ly/1ev23Xu ) the Ludington Daily News for a story Saturday that he and a colleague planted the fish in Pere Marquette Lake.

Mickevich also says fish have been placed in four lakes in Berrien and Cass counties.

The Department of Natural Resources isn’t putting trout into the state’s river systems yet due to flooding.
