HELENA, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a man has died after his boat overturned in a middle Georgia lake.

Wheeler County Sheriff Maurice Johnson tells WMAZ-TV (https://on.wmaz.com/1hCtbnK ) the man and his wife were in a boat on Little Ocmulgee Lake when it flipped over Saturday morning.

Authorities say the woman was able to swim to safety, but the man and boat were swept away into a dam on the south side of the lake at Ocmulgee State Park in Helena - about 75 miles southeast of Macon.

The victim’s identity hasn’t been released.
