THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - The new Tiger Drive Bridge in Thibodaux probably won’t open until the end of summer, city officials say.
The Daily Comet reports (https://bit.ly/1fXjLRE ) completion of the bridge had been projected for May, but delays in the delivery of pilings and because of bad weather pushed back the timetable.
The two-lane crossing is being replaced with a three-lane bridge that will allow drivers to make left turns onto St. Mary Street and Louisiana Highway 308 without slowing traffic.
The $2 million project is being paid for mostly by the state, though the city is responsible for nearly $400,000 of the cost.
