DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - An eastern Iowa man accused of placing hidden video recording devices in a girls’ school bathroom has been captured after several days of being at large, said authorities.

Ian Dishon Isabel, 29, was taken into custody Friday, according to the U.S. Department of Justice for the southern district of Iowa. He was captured in Adams County in western Illinois, though additional information was not released.

Isabel was arrested on a federal complaint charging him with production of child pornography, the Quad-City Times reported (https://bit.ly/1kpnA3D ).

Isabel is accused of placing the devices in two stalls of a girls’ bathroom at Hayes Elementary School in Davenport that were found April 2 by a custodian. Several agencies had been searching for him since then, and he was placed on administrative leave.

Davenport Assistant Police Chief Don Schaeffer said shortly after the discovery that at least three victims had been identified. He did not discuss what evidence led to Isabel as a suspect.

Isabel, who had worked for the Davenport School District since March 2010, was recently the site coordinator for a before- and after-school program that helps at-risk youth.

District spokeswoman Dawn Saul told the newspaper that Isabel’s arrest is a police matter and that the district had no other comment.

Isabel will remain in federal custody pending a detention hearing that will be scheduled later. Court records do not list an attorney.
