BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Baton Rouge man armed with a handgun allegedly forced his ex-girlfriend to drive her empty school bus from her home almost six miles to his home.
Baton Rouge Police Cpl. Don Coppola says 37-year-old Jock Jones released the woman as police arrived Monday morning, but barricaded himself in his house for several minutes before surrendering about 9:20 a.m.
The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1eBq0MP ) Jones faces charges of aggravated kidnapping, illegal possession of a weapon and carjacking. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
The incident started about 6:30 a.m., when Jones showed up at the victim’s house and forced her to drive him to his home. Coppola says the woman had yet to start her bus route, so no children were aboard when the alleged incident occurred.
