YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian on the east side of Yankton will not face charges.

Forty-four-year-old Troy Roberts was killed on Highway 50 on Saturday night. Yankton County Sheriff’s Lt. Clint Clites tells the Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan newspaper (https://bit.ly/1epyYwr) that authorities have not yet determined why Roberts was walking in the traffic lanes.

Clites says tests are being done to determine if Roberts was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
