ISLAMABAD (AP) — Police in central Pakistan say they have arrested a man suspected of cannibalism after finding body parts including a skull that may have belonged to a child in his house.

Ameer Abdullah, the police chief of Bhakkar district, says police made the arrest in Khawar Kalan village during a raid on the house after the man’s neighbors complained of a foul smell.

Another officer, Zafar Iqbal, said authorities believe the man and his brother dug up the bodies from a graveyard. He said they found what appeared to be a child’s skull and were sending it for further tests. He added that authorities are looking for the brother.

Iqbal said the men had been released from prison about a year ago after being convicted of dehumanizing a body.
