AXTELL, Neb. (AP) - An 86-year-old Holdrege man has died after a collision in south-central Nebraska’s Kearney County.

The Kearney County Sheriff’s Office says the accident on Nebraska Highway 44 was reported at 11:40 a.m. Sunday. Deputies say Laverne Graus was driving south when his car collided with a northbound pickup driven by 24-year-old Krystal Anderson, of Phillipsburg, Kan. Graus was pronounced dead at the scene. Anderson was taken to a Kearney hospital.

Deputies say weather and roadway conditions contributed to the accident.
