HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Huntsville police say they’re investigating a shooting involving an off-duty Morgan County sheriff’s deputy at a Walmart.

Police say the deputy told investigators he recognized the victim as a suspect who was wanted on a felony warrant. Authorities say the deputy chased the man and shot him in his buttocks Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the deputy was trying to make an arrest inside the store and they’re reviewing surveillance footage of the incident.

Authorities say the victim was taken to the Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
