COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A 66-year-old woman has been given a four-year deferred jail sentence, unsupervised probation and 100 hours of community service after pleading guilty to charges of neglecting her mother and harming an at-risk adult.

Jeanne Hagio was arrested after 98-year-old Yuta Hagio was found dead on the floor of the bathroom at her home in January.

The Colorado Springs police detective who responded described the home as unlivable, with trash piled 3 feet high and feces from rats, mice, cats and dogs everywhere.

According to KRDO-TV (https://tinyurl.com/l8nbshg ), authorities determined Yuta Hagio died of cardiovascular disease and dehydration. There was no indication of how long she had been dead.
