NIAGARA, N.Y. (AP) - A stretch of a western New York road remains closed after a fully loaded car carrier crashed and rolled over.

State police say 46-year-old Sean Lorraine of Niagara Falls was traveling west on Route 31 in the town of Niagara around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday when he became distracted and his rig drove off the right side of the road.

The truck rolled over and came to rest in a ditch, with cars on top of the rig landing on their sides.

Lorraine wasn’t injured. Troopers say charges are pending against him.

Emergency crews are still at the scene, and Route 31 between Interstate 190 and Military Road remains closed.
