MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Two women who were trapped when a tree fell onto a house in suburban Atlanta have been rescued and taken to a local hospital.

Cobb County fire Lt. Dan Dupree tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://bit.ly/Rn65qD ) a pine tree came crashing through the roof of a house in Marietta Tuesday afternoon and injured two women who were inside. The tree came down as high winds moved through the area.

One woman who was seriously injured was airlifted to a local hospital and the second woman was taken away by an ambulance. Authorities have said the women suffered injuries to their lower bodies.
