AURORA, Colo. (AP) - The Aurora City Council is rejecting pay raises and a proposal that would give its mayor more power.
Last weekend, the council decided against asking voters to approve raises for the council and mayor. It also rejected a proposal to give Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan much more power instead of allowing the city manager to make most of the decisions on daily operations.
The Denver Post reports (https://tinyurl.com/mkhn6x4 ) some council members believe the changes would allow Aurora to compete better with Denver on major projects.
