HELENA, Mont. (AP) - The Montana High School Association’s executive board has approved the reclassification of sports teams at three schools due to decreasing enrollment.

The board moved both Anaconda and Libby from Class A to Class B and moved Plentywood from Class B to Class C. The new classifications take effect with the start of the 2015-16 school year.

Eight other schools were identified for reclassification based on enrollment, but all petitioned and were approved to remain in their current classifications.

Generally, high schools with 826 or more students are Class AA, while Class A schools have between 340-825 students. Class B is for schools with 120-339 students and schools with 119 or fewer students are Class C.
