LAKE WALES, Fla. (AP) - A long-time employee of a manufactured homes company faces grand theft charges following a four-month investigation by Lake Wales police.

Police arrested 42-year-old Melissa Platt Ginther on Monday and she was released on $40,000 bail. She’s also accused of money laundering and making false entries on the books at Central Florida Manufactured Home Sales.

The Ledger of Lakeland (https://bit.ly/1npVjKn ) reports the investigation began in October when the company’s owner Pam Thompson met with an investigator from the state Department of Revenue to discuss discrepancies with taxes.

Investigators say he had attempted to contact Thompson many times, but his calls were intercepted by Ginther. She’s accused of falsifying documents in an attempt to hide more than $250,000 in missing money.

No attorney was listed for Ginther on jail records.
