VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) - Heavy rains have led to continuing sewage problems in the south Georgia city of Valdosta.

The Valdosta Daily Times reports (https://bit.ly/1h2ZEO4) that 11 manholes throughout the city had spilled an estimated 286,500 gallons of wastewater into local waterways as of Tuesday afternoon.

City officials say many of the overflows were still ongoing Tuesday afternoon. They said the spills have been reported to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.

Among the overflows: Two manholes on Scott Drive overflowed, spilling an estimated 63,000 gallons of wastewater in Sugar Creek.
