ATHOL, Mass. (AP) - A Lawrence man has been arrested by members of the Northwestern Anti-Crime Task Force after police caught him attempting to deliver heroin in Athol.

Task force members arrested 52-year-old Julio Morales Wednesday when he arrived in a vehicle to deliver about 100 grams of heroin with a local street value of about $65,000. He is being held on $100,000 cash bail and is to be arraigned in Orange District Court on charges of trafficking in heroin over 36 grams.

Authorities say Morales recently had been released from prison after serving a 7- to 9-year sentence for a similar drug offense.
