WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. (AP) - The veterans hospital in White River Junction, Vt., has added an iron gate at its main entrance to improve security.
The new gate follows a Veterans Administration “Vulnerability Assessment” conducted in 2010.
VA Hospital Director Deborah Amdur tells Vermont Public Radio (https://bit.ly/1iZk4dn) she’s confident the hospital is taking all the necessary steps to maintain safety while at the same time being a welcoming place to find help.
VA officials say there are also many other less visible security measures in place. A security fence will be expanded as resources become available.
