OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is looking for historic pictures or artifacts related to the agency that has been in existence since before statehood.

Sheriff John Whetsel says the office is working on a history project and is asking the public for any photos or items connected to the sheriff’s office that was established in the 1890s, before Oklahoma became a state in 1907.

He said the agency is looking for any photographs, old or new, of officers, vehicles, equipment or anything else connected to the department.

Photos can be emailed to the department or posted on Twitter with the hashtag #OCSOHistory.
