BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Police say a Bismarck woman was too intoxicated to care for her son after she reported she didn’t know where he was even though the boy was at home with her.

Thirty-one-year-old Adelann Bradford has been charged with Class C felony child abuse or neglect.

The Bismarck Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1gEAPsJ ) Bradford had called police Tuesday saying she couldn’t find her son. She said she had dropped him off at her mother’s house after school.

Bradford’s mother told police she had not seen the boy all day. The boy also told police his mother had picked him up from school, and they went home.

Bradford later told police she had taken some Benadryl pills then “chugged” a beer and had a glass of wine after finding her son at home.
