IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) - An eastern Idaho man police say kidnapped and choked his estranged wife faces second-degree kidnapping and attempted strangulation charges.

Idaho Falls police tell the Post Register (https://bit.ly/1h6ZANp) that 58-year-old Loyd Burnside was taken into custody Tuesday.

Police say Burnside grabbed the woman by the throat from behind at a Walmart parking lot and forced her into his vehicle.

Idaho Falls Police Department spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen says Burnside drove about 23 miles west of Idaho Falls and held the woman for an hour before returning her to the parking lot.

Officers arrested Burnside at his home and he was booked into the Bonneville County Jail with a bond of $125,000.

He wasn’t listed on the jail’s roster on Thursday.
