BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota State University will host its fourth annual purebred Hampshire sheep sale on Saturday, May 3.

The SDSU Hampshire sheep flock was established in 1898.

Twenty-five purebred Hampshire lambs consisting of five rams and 20 ewe lambs will be sold at the SDSU Sheep Unit facilities in Brookings.

The sheep are selected from the fall and spring born lamb crop and they’ll be sold as individual lots using a silent auction-board format.

The barn will open at 10 a.m. on sale day for viewing and registration. Bidding is 11 a.m. to noon.
