FREEPORT, N.Y. (AP) - Police on Long Island are looking for a man who allegedly fired several shots after forcing a woman back to her house to give him money.

Nassau County police say it happened around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday on Sunrise Highway in Freeport.

They say the suspect brandished a handgun as he walked up to the woman and took her cellphone.

He then allegedly demanded that they walk to her house and that she give him no less than $5,000.

When they reached the house, police say the victim grabbed the man’s gun. They say the suspect pulled it away and fired two shots, missing the woman. He then fled.
