DALLAS (AP) - A gunman who pleaded guilty to five bank robberies in the Dallas area has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
A federal judge in Dallas on Thursday afternoon sentenced 59-year-old Luis de la Garza of Farmers Branch.
De la Garza in November pleaded guilty to five holdups that happened last year - in Dallas, Grand Prairie, Farmers Branch, Arlington and Garland. He confessed to more than a dozen other bank holdups since 2010.
Investigators say de la Garza wore a mesh mask, a cap and carried a BB gun pistol in each bank heist. He was caught following a robbery last May.
