LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Little Rock police say a former police officer has died after he got into an apparent scuffle over a hot dog cart.

Lt. Sidney Allen says the incident occurred at about 4 a.m. Friday when Ean Bourdeaux called 911 to report that someone was trying to destroy his hot dog cart.

Allen says Bourdeaux got into a scuffle with the suspect, who has been identified as former Little Rock police officer Todd Payne.

Allen says Payne was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Bourdeaux tells the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1kJfpzw ) that Payne had set the hog dog cart on fire. He told the newspaper that he believed Payne was angry with him after Bourdeaux wrote about Payne in an online blog about public corruption.
