OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - A proposed time sale near the site of last month’s deadly mudslide has been deferred.

Officials with the state Department of Department of Natural Resources said Friday that the deferred sale of 188 acres, located approximately five miles southwest of the Oso slide, will undergo additional review to ensure that there is no risk to public safety. The March 22 slide buried dozens of homes in the community 55 miles northeast of Seattle. The death toll is at 39, and four people remain listed as missing.

The sale was originally set for auction on April 23.
