DETROIT (AP) - Authorities say a fire on the 18th floor of a Detroit apartment complex injured two people and prompted an evacuation.

The Detroit News and broadcasters report the fire broke out Tuesday night at the Regency Tower complex on the city’s near-east side and was out by 11 p.m.

The fire department says two people were treated for smoke inhalation and others evacuated from the building as crews responded.

Residents were allowed to return to the apartment complex after the fire.
