ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Jury selection has begun for the trial of a western New York woman charged with buying the guns a man used to kill two firefighters and wound two others on Christmas Eve 2012.

A state Supreme Court justice on Monday refused to dismiss a criminal charge against Dawn Nguyen (wehn). She’s charged with falsifying a business record connected to a semi-automatic rifle and shotgun she bought for William Spengler Jr. in 2010.

Spengler fatally shot two members of the West Webster Volunteer Fire Department after setting his home on fire early on the morning of Dec. 24, 2012. He wounded two others before committing suicide after exchanging gunfire with a police officer.

Jury selection for Nguyen’s trial began Wednesday morning.

She also faces federal charges for the gun purchases.
