JASPER, Ala. (AP) - Authorities in Walker County say they’ve recovered the body of a man who fell into the Black Warrior River.
Investigators have said 53-year-old Danny McCleskey fell overboard last month and his body was recovered on Tuesday afternoon.
AL.com reports that Walker County sheriff’s officials have said McCleskey fell into the river from a barge that he used to repair boat docks.
County Coroner J.C. Poe says foul play isn’t suspected in McCleskey’s death and his body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy.
WBRC-TV reports McCleskey’s family issued a statement thanking emergency responders and volunteers for their help and support.
