ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia State University officials say a two-time Olympic medalist has been chosen to deliver the keynote address at the school’s spring commencement.

Officials said in a release Tuesday that Elana Meyers, of Douglasville, is scheduled to speak to students during commencement at the Georgia Dome on May 10.

Meyers won a silver medal along with her teammate Lauryn Williams in the two-woman bobsled competition in Sochi, Russia at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Meyers and her teammate Erin Pac earned a bronze medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.

School officials say Meyers was inspired by the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and played softball at George Washington University. Officials say Meyers kept pursuing her Olympic dream through bobsledding after softball was dropped from the Summer Olympics.
