ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A man shot during an arrest attempt by federal marshals in the Albuquerque area has been released from the hospital.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Gilberto Angelo Serrano was discharged Tuesday from the hospital and has been booked on various charges.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, Serrano was interviewed by investigators and booked on a no-bond parole violation. He also faces a number of charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, child abuse, and being felon in possession of a firearm.

Sheriff’s spokesman Aaron Williamson says a marshal also suffered minor injuries during the arrest attempt.

Sheriff’s officials, state police and Albuquerque police are investigating the shooting.

It was not known if Serrano had an attorney.
