MASSENA, N.Y. (AP) - The New York Power Authority is set to begin installing docks and buoys along the St. Lawrence River as boating season nears.

The process is expected to begin Monday and take about two weeks, but it depends on the weather and river conditions.

Crews will begin work in the vicinity of the St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project. Dock installation starts at NYPA’s Frank S. McCullough Hawkins Point Visitors Center and ends at the Howard Park docks in the town of Waddington.

All docks and buoys will be removed around the end of October - before ice creates unsafe conditions for workers and the boating public.

NYPA will provide public notice in advance of that work.
