SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Police in Santa Fe say a 60-year-old woman riding her bicycle has died after being hit by a train.

Police spokeswoman Celina Westervelt says the bicyclist was riding at the intersection of Zia Road and Saint Francis Drive just before 11 a.m. Saturday when she was fatally struck by the southbound Rail Runner.

The victim’s name was being withheld pending notification of family, and officials didn’t expect to release it before Monday.

Westervelt says passengers were aboard the train but didn’t say if any of them or the driver was hurt. She says the passengers were bussed to a station to catch their connecting routes.

It wasn’t yet known what caused the accident.

Officials say Zia Road reopened just before 6:30 p.m., and the train is back to normal operation.
