A-State’s Burgess is Sun Belt Player of the Week

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - The Sun Belt Conference has named Arkansas State’s Matt Burgess the conference Player of the Week.

The selection announced Monday comes after Burgess hit .500 last week as ASU wen 4-0. He had a double, a home run and six runs batted in.

Among his RBI’s was a game-tying run driven in Sunday as ASU rallied for a 10-9 win over Louisiana-Monroe to complete a 4-0 week with a three-game conference sweep of ULM.

Arkansas State takes on Central Arkansas on Tuesday with the game to start at 6 p.m.
