ONEIDA, Iowa (AP) - Firefighters say they found the body of a woman as they battled a blaze in a northeast Iowa field.

The Greeley Fire Department responded around 2 p.m. Sunday to the report of a cornfield fire in Oneida, three miles to the south.

Delaware County Sheriff John LeClere (leh-CLEHR’) says investigators think the body was that of a 79-year-old woman who lived in the area. They suspect she was burning brush when flames got out of control.

An autopsy was ordered. Her name isn’t being released until relatives are notified of her death.
