Man dies in Lee County house fire

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a 41-year-old man has died in a Lee County house fire.

WTVA TV reports (https://bit.ly/1reE5Qq ) firefighters responded to the call just after 5 a.m. Saturday.

Firefighters identified the victim as Romero Hampton.

They say his wife managed to get out safely.

Officials with the Tupelo Fire Department say the fire started in the kitchen.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
