OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Former Oklahoma Gov. George Nigh will give the commencement address at Oklahoma City University on May 10.
More than 900 students will receive bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees during two ceremonies at the Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center.
Oklahoma City University will also award Nigh an honorary doctor of public administration degree. Nigh served four terms as a state representative and four terms as lieutenant governor. He was sworn in as governor four times, including two consecutive terms.
He also served as president of the University of Central Oklahoma.
Nigh will give the commencement address during the undergraduate ceremony at 11 a.m., and music professor David Steffens, recipient of this year’s OCU Outstanding Faculty Award, will give the address during the graduate commencement ceremony at 3 p.m.
