BRONXVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Animal care authorities in Westchester are asking for information on a dog that had been abandoned in a pet carrier by the side of the road in Bronxville.
The SPCA of Westchester said the closed carrier containing the West Highland Terrier mix had been left out in the sun with no food or water at the corner of Oriole Avenue near Concordia College.
The SPCA says the pooch, now named Lampchop, had been abandoned for a few hours before a good Samaritan called their hotline on April 16. They say Lampchop is doing well and will be ready for adoption shortly.
Anyone with information is asked to call the SPCA’s Animal Cruelty Hotline at 914-941-7797.
